An 8-day-long festival programme breaking barriers between experimental sound art and live music across genres; developing audiences; supporting artists; encouraging people to try something new.

Festival patrons: Robert Wyatt; Jim Broadbent.

The Sonophilia festival is designed to break down barriers between genres, disciplines and audiences.  Our philosophy is to challenge preconceptions, bringing together radically diverse approaches, weaving them into something unique and beautiful.

Love of incredible sounds is an amazing adventure, across time, technology and the human imagination.  We’re sharing that adventure, with artists, partners, participants and audiences.

We show-case contemporary experimental Sound performance and installation, amidst live music, across genres, from new interpretations of traditional styles and disciplines to the cutting edge of technological audio creativity.

At our heart is community involvement and inclusion, welcoming everyone to our friendly workshops and especially our joyous Ran-Tan.

We are supported and Funded by Arts Council England:

We believe that great art and culture inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, it makes life better.

and Visit Lincoln:
