Mossy Christian-Illet     The Hanging Johnnys     Lincoln’s Shanty Blasters

A mini festival within a festival.  Roll up to take part in a first for Lincoln’s music scene.

Kicking off with ‘Mungo and the Picture Book Pirates’:  Come and join Mungo and Rhubarb Theatre in this exciting seafaring yarn, where we’ll be acting out, singing, dancing and making lots of booty.

Each night Mungo reads his favourite story, a swashbuckling tale of danger, kidnap and rescue. But one night the hero, Captain Fleet, isn’t there to save the day so Mungo decides to take action. He takes a deep breath and bravely jumps into the story and his very own pirate adventure…

Alongside Rhubarb Theatre’s merry making will be a rousing shanty blast led by Lincoln’s very own Shanty Blasters.  Argh Hargh!   Shiver me timbers!  Bring your favourite sea themed costume and join in with Sea Shanties and Folk Songs with The Hanging Johnny Singers.

Then anchor your attention to the stage for an evening of rousing entertainment from some pretty mighty performers.

“We play the music of our people. We sing in our own accents. We record in our kitchens and living rooms. This is our culture, our tradition.”

“Hoo ha! Hoo hoo ha! Bilbao and Dublin-based  folksters The Rubber Wellies present their multi-lingual cabaret of joyful, sing-a-long anthems, intimate ballads and anarchic participatory fun. “

FOOD will be available until 3.30pm from one of our favourite places to chow down in Lincoln The Rising Cafe

Don’t despair!  When the cafe closes there will be pastie-tastic action from our own Sonophilia Superchef along with butcher’s sausage rolls, luscious brownies and flapjacks

ALCOLHOL – Alive Church are happy for visitors to bring their own personal allowance of alcohol.  A couple of beers or a bottle of wine to share with friends 🙂
